Spruce Pitch Salve Making Workshop

Join us for a hands-on, land-connected workshop where traditional plant knowledge meets mindful sustainability.

Participants ages 12–15 must attend with an adult.

Join us for a hands-on, land-connected workshop where traditional plant knowledge meets mindful sustainability. In this immersive session, participants will learn how to create their own spruce pitch healing salve, using respectfully gathered boreal forest ingredients and repurposed containers provided in partnership with Raven ReCentre.

Together, we’ll explore the teachings of spruce pitch, its cultural significance, and its many uses for wellness and everyday care. Participants will also learn simple ways to reduce waste, reuse materials, and honour the land through practical, low-impact crafting.

This is an interactive, community-centered workshop where we learn, create, share stories, and support one another in a good way. Everyone will leave with their own handcrafted spruce pitch salve and the knowledge to continue making it at home.

Come walk gently with us—connecting land, sustainability, and traditional wisdom along the forest path.

This is more than a workshop, it’s an opportunity to connect with the land, learn intergenerational knowledge, and experience traditional skills in a welcoming, community setting.

We will be led by Amy Genier, a local Indigenous artist born into the Southern Tutchone Clan, from the Ta'an Kwach'an Council First Nation. An everlearning master of her craft, studying traditional plant medicine for the past two decades.

There is an entrance fee of $25.00 per person, all proceeds go directly to Amy as our guide for this workshop and as a support to her craft.
